The Monroe County Friends of Animals (MCFA) operates a monthly food pantry to help pet families in Monroe County.

Second Chance Pals (SCP) was formed to save the lives of many adult adoptable pets by getting them into foster care and out of an already crowded and chaotic shelter situation. We also intend to feature these older animals that remain in the shelter awaiting foster care. This, in turn, should give them a greater chance at a finding a forever home. SCP desperately needs foster homes so we can continue to take in these needy pets. If you can help, please contact Sindy at sindywakefield@gmail.com or Jessica at jessica.speaker@yahoo.com.

Shelter Needs:
  • Pedigree dog and puppy canned and dry food.
  • Friskies canned pate flavors.
  • Purina One dry cat and kitten food.
  • Donations via PayPal can be made from our website www.monroecountyfriendsofanimals.org
  • Or checks mailed to MCFA, PO Box 106, Vonore, TN 37885.
All funds are used for animal care including veterinarian fees, antibiotics, testing, vaccinations, flea and heartworm control, cat litter and sanitary litter boxes.

Donations can be dropped off at the Shelter during shelter hours OR Food City in Vonore has a donation barrel by the customer service desk if you want to buy some food and just leave it right in the store. The shelter is closed on Sunday-Monday. We thank you for your kindness and support.

The Monroe County Animal Shelter is at 170 Kefauver Lane in Madisonville (behind Wal-Mart) and is open Tues-Fri 11-4:30 and Saturdays 11-2. The shelter is closed Sunday and Monday. Call 423-442-1015 or check out all available pets on our website at www.monroecountyfriendsofanimals.org.

Thank you to the volunteers who continue to be faithful in coming to help us at the shelter, we appreciate you so much!
