We are constantly in need of pet foster parents. Fostering a pet can be short or long term. When you foster an animal, you are providing it a loving home and a chance to socialize with humans and perhaps other pets. You, in return, receive the reward of the unconditional love of a pet. It’s a worthwhile experience. Please contact the Monroe County Animal Shelter at 423-442-1015.

Have you been to the MCFA Thrift Store run by volunteers of The Monroe County Animal Friends of Animals at 884 Englewood Street in Madisonville (next to Douglas Cherokee)? If you haven’t been for a while, you might be missing out on some tremendous bargains. New merchandise arrives daily and is priced to move. Clothing, shoes, furniture, kitchenware, bedding, appliances, books - we’ve got it all. Proceeds go to help the homeless animals of Monroe County. Shopping hours areWednesday-Saturday 10 to 4. Volunteers are always welcome. For up to date sale information cal 423-420-3412. Spring cleaning? Donations are greatly appreciated and accepted Wednesday-Saturday 10-3:30. Please do not call the shelter.

Shelter Needs: Lots of scoopable/clumping cat litter (Tidy Cat), paper towels, laundry detergent, copy paper, bleach, Q-tips, cotton balls, and Original blue Dawn-all cleaning & office supplies are always needed!
