Please copy the attached poster with the next voucher issue dates, share it with your friends & neighbors, send it to your organization contacts, and post it in your community where ever possible. Also attached is a ½ page SNAP schedule that can be given to people who have intact pets.
SNAP will issue a limited number of FREE spay/neuter vouchers to low income Monroe County residents on Saturday, October 6 from 10 – 11am at the Sweetwater City Hall, 203 Monroe Street, Sweetwater. A picture ID or other proof of residency is required.
The next SNAP voucher issue session is scheduled:
- October 6 at Sweetwater City Hall from 10 to 11am
Spay/Neuter works in many ways. If you have an unplanned litter of kittens or puppies, it is much easier to find them good homes if they have been “fixed”. As long as vouchers are available, SNAP is happy to provide vouchers to fix the entire litter. You will feel better, because “fixed” kittens & puppies will not add to the pet overpopulation problem in Monroe County.
Any qualified low income resident of Monroe County can obtain free spay/neuter vouchers at the voucher issue sessions. If someone cannot attend a SNAP voucher issue session, a friend or relative can pick up a voucher - proof of residence and information about pet owner & pet must be provided.
A pet owner can receive multiple vouchers, enough to “fix” all their cats and dogs.
We need to spay/neuter many more cats, especially free roaming cats, barn cats, neighborhood cats, stray & feral cats -- any cat that can be placed in a carrier and taken to the vet. SNAP Free spay/neuter vouchers can be used to fix these cats
Funds to pay for the vouchers are provided by grants from: East Tennessee Foundation’s John D. Grubb and Louise G. Sumner Fund for Monroe County, East Tennessee Foundation’s Harry W. and Carolyn W. Galbraith Memorial Fund, Onshore Foundation, Monroe County Friends of Animals (MCFA) and TN Animal Friendly license program fund.
